Surrender Everything to Him!

"A great rain is heard" (1 Kings 18:41).

It is impressive to see how Elijah risked everything in the hands of his God! For three and a half years there was drought throughout the nation, and water was extremely scarce. However, he insisted that the water be poured abundantly on the sacrifice that was to vindicate the name of Jehovah.

"How? Waste our last reserves of water, without the slightest hint of rain in sight?". "Yes," Elias said, "do it again". And he still said: "Do it the third time". And as if this were not enough, he himself dug a trench around the altar.

If we too want to hallow the name of the Lord, we must bring what we have and give it to him. Someone will ask: "And what will happen if the rain does not come? I need to ensure the water that I have". God save us! That is the path of drought and sterility. Let's give it all to him! What we lose will be nothing compared to the abundance of rain from him.
