Our Good Is Already Prepared

"Till thy people pass over, O LORD, till this people, whom thou hast redeemed, pass over. Thou shalt bring them in and plant them in the mountain of Thine inheritance, in the place of Thy dwelling, which Thou hast prepared, O LORD, in the sanctuary which Thy hands, O LORD, have established" (Exodus 15:16-17).

The natural tendency of our human nature is to make us worry about the future. We constantly fret at the thought of our future. We ask ourselves: Will I do well? Will I keep my job? Will I be able to achieve what I want? Will I retain what I have achieved? What will my old age be like? Will I be healthy or will I get sick? Will my family do well?

Yes, we worry about our well-being, about our security in the future. The problem is that, many times, these worries lead us to live under anxiety and mistrust.

The Bible says that long before Israel left Egypt, long before they wandered for forty years in the wilderness and long before they were introduced to the Promised Land, long, long before all that, the Lord had already prepared for them the things they would need at every stage of that process.

"In the place of thy habitation, which thou hast prepared ... in the sanctuary which thy hands, O LORD, have established". Israel would not have to wait for God's resources... God's resources were waiting for the people of Israel!

In the wilderness, for thirsty men and women, a Rock awaited them, gushing forth the water of life. In the same wilderness, for the hungry and desperate men, there awaited them manna straight from heaven. They would not starve in the midst of scarcity. God had everything prepared in advance for them.

Everything we need, everything we truly need, God has already prepared for us from eternity. Everything we need, what we lack, has already been prepared for us by the Lord. We should not live in worry.
